COVID-19 Updates & Important Information

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented many changes to our office hours, staffing, training and much more. Please continue to check this page to stay up to date with the most recent changes and information you will need to know. Thank you in advance for your diligence in this matter, we look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Update - January 4, 2021

With the recent surge in our state’s Covid-19 infection rate, and updated mandates please note the following updates.

We are able to buy sanitizing wipes and each aircraft has a supply in the dispatch “buckets”. It remains MANDADTORY that all aircraft surfaces be wiped down BEFORE AND AFTER every flight. There are pre-moistened lens wipes in the dispatch binders for all aircraft that have Garmin 430s, 530s etc.

Continue to self-assess your health status. DO NOT come to work / lessons if you have been around someone actively ill until it is confirmed they are not Covid positive. Wear your masks when in the company of anyone not living in your home.

As before, ground lessons should continue to be done via ZOOM / Facetime. Any questions, please let any of the WINGS family know.

Update - May 12, 2020

As the county is opening in stages, some of our flight instructor staff have begun opening their schedules. As more of them are coming back and the addition of new instructors, please be aware that that does NOT mean we are going back to “business as usual.” Procedures that have been in place for the past month with regard to cockpit sterilization before and after each flight will remain mandatory.

As we are unable to procure Clorox type wipes, we will be using a diluted bleach solution in spray bottles and paper towels. These should be disposed of in an appropriate trash receptacle and anyone leaving the cleaning supplies in the dispatch buckets or not properly cleaning the aircraft and equipment, will be subject to fines to cover the cost of a staff person doing so and / or temporary suspension of flight privileges.

Additionally, we are encouraging ground lessons to continue being done via video calls / zoom etc. Please limit the amount of time spent just hanging out chatting. We are all missing the visiting / social aspects of general aviation, but we still need to provide space and time for a protracted recovery and the health and safety of our staff, clients and the visiting public.

Please NOTE: You should come to your lessons with a face mask after determining through a self-assessment that you are well. Ask yourself the following questions and take your temperature prior to arriving at the school:

  1. Have I been near anyone in the past 2 weeks who has become ill / symptomatic (excluding allergies / asthma)?
  2. Do I feel 100%?
  3. What is my current temperature? (You should be taking your temperature a few days in a row so that you know what your personal “normal” is).

We look forward to seeing all of our friends and clients as well as making new ones. Thanks everyone for trying to make the best of this situation and very trying time.

Update - March 30, 2020

As things are ever changing with the current status of the COVID-19 situation across the state, country and world, we, at WINGS, are doing our best to keep everyone in “the loop” and as up to date as possible.

Our office is OPEN / Our fleet is FLYING / Our staff is AVAILABLE.

All of the above are being adjusted daily, if not weekly. Some staff members are taking some time off from flying, but are still available for their students. Our office and management staff is always available via email at SUPPORT@WINGSFLIGHTSCHOOL.COM. We are working towards a voicemail system that can be accessed from anywhere by management. Currently it is only available after hours.

If you make a SAME DAY or EARLY/LATE reservation and are unsure if our office will be staffed at that time, please call the front desk and EMAIL SUPPORT to confirm office accessibility.

During this worldwide pandemic and time of uncertainty, we are doing our best to continue to provide our fellow aviators and aviation enthusiasts with a SAFE, CLEAN & FUN learning and teaching and environment.

We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all of the continued support and love we have received over the last few weeks. We are overjoyed that we can remain open and continue to provide aviation education and excitement to your lives!

Please stay safe and take care of yourselves and loved ones WINGS FAMILY!
